Well, what did we expect? If my daily driver had an Eco6, it would have more HP, TQ and MPG than my 5.4 V8.
V8 a Truck/SUV? Good riddence.
No V8 in a sports car? That does suck, though.

Remember there was a time when you couldn't buy a Falcon with a V8. I think it was when we got the EA. Sad years.

So if they're blaming the government and tightening EPA requirements, why isn't GM cutting their V8 program? Sounds more like corporate politics to me.

Sounds more like government kickbacks to me. All the manufacturers can stick their new cars up their azzes. If I ever buy a new car again it will be a Tesla! I'm done with the "Big Three"

GM and dodge are building bigger hp and more efficient engines than ever before.
Ford dropping the V8? Sounds like BS to me.

I thought they were going to run the new 5.2L flat-plane crankshaft Voodoo in the 2015/2016 GT350?? (550hp!)

Has any one else picked up on this? I consider the source to be pretty unreliable.

I have news to counter that statement. Interview in Hot Rod magazine with Ford Engine executive says V8 will be here to stay for the foreseeable future. Now, in a Mustang? If Ford heads off in another odd direction like Mustang III... then who can tell.

Cant see it happening myself..............but as those who know me well, I have been wrong before !!
Would be a disgraceful decision regardless and the credibility of the "performance in our DNA" mantra trotted out repeatedly would take a substantive 'hit' in my humble opinion.

There have recently been other stories of misinformation proffered by senior auto executives. For example IIRC the GM number 2 made a statement that the Corvette was bound for Australia in RHD form....and then soon after his subordinate made a statement retracting that there are no plans to make the Corvette in RHD.

So, which is it? Time will tell I guess.
