To celebrate the Queensland Firebirds winning the netball grand final in such a spectacular fashion, a ticker tape parade was arranged in the CBD. Thanks to Warren for organising for the Qld Cobra Club to be involved.
What a great event! To add to my concerns that my car would either not start, or would overheat, I was then told that I'd be carrying the captain Laura Geitz.
Everything seemed to go well. All cars made it, the crowd and players had a good time and it was a good celebration for a champion team.
Special thanks to my security guy and some police officers who kept pulling melting streamers from my hot side pipes and reassuring Laura that the car wasn't on fire. Top job fellas!
I know there have been lots more photos taken of the event, which I look forward to seeing. Here are some that I took or have been sent.
Lined up at City Hall
One security guard per vehicle
The aftermath...
(The sound is from those plastic clapping hands from the cheer squad, not from an exhaust leak on the Cobra!)
WHO POLISHED YOUR CAR CRAIG
& was your car picked as it drives from the wrong side & my daughter said that you didn't smile in any of the news reports we saw

Some great shots and really love seeing the club members put on a show. My favourite pics were
750Hp streamers not out of place at the MardiGra.
Water temp gauge. Imagine if it was summer.
750HP's security detail looking sharp for fire starters.
Wazza and the chook. Soooooooo many one liners there.
Well done to everyone. Cars looked great and seemingly very well received.
I suppose you should have left them there for when QLD wins the STATE OF ORIGIN too!
I like that temp gauge shot too - it really jumped out! What's your car normally run at Wazza?
Some fantastic photos there. I saw a lot of comments on the Firebirds page from people saying that they would have loved to have gone to the parade, but it was at the exact time that most netball games were being played around the suburbs. I guess there's going to be a small window of opportunity to close down the centre of the CBD.
Also, wasn't the rule for the parade NO DRIFTING...???
