Oops, I only meant to post one page.
On page 47 is a photo of a dash panel made of timber.
Aust. has some beautiful timbers.
The use of a local timber from your area would add a unique (Australian) character to a car.
Food for thought

Looks great Slowy. I've seen some pretty disastrous efforts getting around. You've got to pick the right timber and know how to dress it correctly.

Yer that gearstick is gone now and am back to the old variant for now. Even an off set jobby like the original wasn't going to fit.

Will work on this once dash is back in place.

Found a great provider of timber laminates in Hallam, 1mm thick options of different timber species. Not cheap but the range will just about cover any look option.

Of course one has to have a predilection for a timber faced dash, but I can't come to the fabric look with the compression look around the gauges.

Horses for courses.
