Ice Ignition - Yay or Nay
Have been a long time user of Mallory for ignition components
MSD have taken them over and are currently supplying some replacement parts online but do not ship outside the US.
I learned all this having fried the electronic ignition module....
So it looks like a brand switch is inevitable.
and it appears there is a local mob
Innovative Ignition Systems & Components - ICE Ignition
Does anyone care to share experiences ?
thanks

Hi LoBelly
I have been using a Scorcher ignition system with no issues what so ever.
Local to you as well from Performance Ignition Services
Cheers

Scorcher
LoBelly,
I had to drop my dizzy off yesterday to Scorcher for a similar problem,
Well I hope it is a similar issue. The coil exploded on Sunday and the RACV bloke
Said it was the dizzy module, it's only 18 years old so it probably needed a
birthday anyway.
I'll keep you posted

I have used Performance Ignition Services for parts, distributors - both conventional and EFI specific, custom leads, etc, on all my cars for years.
I cant recommend them enough and delivery to perth has always been very prompt.

Ice is really well known and has a great reputation.
From memory they are widely used in the Engine master competitions in the USA.

Myself, Guy and David Marsh all have ICE custom made ignition wires in our Pace Cobras. Great quality and fit. Highly recommended!

Mickhail
Ditto +1 on Ben and Sime's comments.
I too had ICE make up my revised leads to suit the relocation of my coil packs to the rear of the engine.
The owner was good enough too to lend me a variety of plug ends to help decide what to use to best suit my set up and to help measure up the individual lead lengths needed.
Just dug up the receipt and I ordered 9mm Pro 100 series and they cost me $300 G inclusive.
Don't think you can go too far wrong with them and they are locally convenient mate!

I recommended and fitted an ICE system to a friends Mustang.
7 Amp Street Series Ignition Kit - ICE Ignition
Very easy to setup, super reliable.

ICE is world class. With the number of issues I've been hearing about, it seems like the quality control with Mallory and MSD isn't near the standard of ICE at the moment.

Thank-you Everyone for your comments,
As it happened I was in the area this-afternoon so stopped by to visit the factory.
The chaps were very proud and passionate about their products and also very helpful. The experiences described above were repeated i.e. Happy to make up lead sets to suit my routing preferences or to give me the kit to make my own - again with the offer of a variety of boots.
The Ice Men and their products impressed me so I will be giving them a go.
Will post some pics for those interested ( ...eventually)

Yep...big on the Engine Masters comp. Did see there demo at the Performance Racing Industry show in Indy. Very impressive on how much more energy they send to a plug!
