Default Hi from Melbourne. New here.

Just signed up and saying hi.
I'm in Melbourne and am scratch building a GT40. So far I have a body and that's about it. Nearly finished a build table which bolts together using 150UBs.

Was looking to see what the cobra guys are doing in regards to engines and other engineering issues. Hope to catch up with a few of you along the way.

When is the next Melbourne meeting? Is it out Bullene way still?

Regards Ryan

Hi Ryan,
good to hear from you; I am also in the process of scratch building a GT40 and I have already built my chassis and I have a Gulf Body that I am preparing for it.
I would be more than happy to give you any advice as I also have a finished RF GT40 also that I hand built to completion some years ago now.

Cheers
Wil

Welcome indeed Sir,

Scratch building a GT40?
Shieeet, you either crazy or a super talented individual.

Either way I'm subscribing
This could be a great build thread. Please do post your pics & thanks for dropping in.

FWIW: there was a fantastic Gulf coloured RCR GT40 at one of our last club cobra meets. It had a ton of high end work done to it. Far too many details to list here. A truly impressive build. Where in Melb do you live?

Best wishes with your project.

Welcome, and please do your bit to contribute to the madness, scratch building a 40 is exactly the kind of thing we all love to see on here. As soon as you have enough posts (I think 10) you can post pics. The more the better

Thanks for the warm ribbing. I was expecting much worse to be honest.

I will try and get along to the meeting next week. Wednesday the 3rd. I see it is the AGM. Should be an interesting first meeting to attend!

The Victorian Clubman Builders Group have there AGM tomorrow night and I am heading along to that as well as I have been a member there for a while.

Dimis, Crazzy is probably closer to the mark, but it's my Crazzy so I am comfortable with it. I have seen the Gluf GT40 that you speak of shown on the face book feed. Seen it a couple of times now, once at Philip island historics this year, and then at a local cars and coffee the other month. So many details, all done extremely well. Definitely a high water mark.

I am near Chadstone shopping centre.

CG514, is that you goldie?

Ryan
