Default Where to buy functioning sidepipes in Aus?

I know there are old threads about sidepipes but I want a simple, straight to the point answer as to who can provide side pipes in Australia?

I haven't decided if I want polished stainless or ceramic coated as yet but I do want 4 into 1 with a swedged collector.

I know there are multiple suppliers offshore but I would prefer to buy local if I can.

Even if some of you more gifted gents (I cant weld for ** would like to fab a set up for me I am keen for that too.

Any help appreciated.

I just bought a welder that can do stainless and I'm looking for a project. I did a night course at TAFE last year, and want to practice on someone else first. Never done it but how hard can it be? Trust me

There is nothing hard about making them, just get the right parts and take your time.
I test fitted everything by taping the joins with 2" masking tape, then once you have it mocked up cut a small square out of either side of each join with a scalpel for a tack weld.
Weld it up and 'ta dah!' You have a custom set of headers.

The side pipe part is the easy bit.

I would however probably get your head around what you are doing prior to contracting out your skills

I agree that Aussie Mike is a great option within the Cobra community.
Any decent custom exhaust shop can also do them. You just need to be very clear about what you want it to look like. Collector shape, muffler diameter, primary pipe diameter, shape.angle.turndown of the tip can all make a difference.
I could name a handful of businesses in SE Qld, but I'm not sure where you are.

I made my own headers and sidepipes. And before I started I never dreamed I would attempt it.

Craig and Wazza mentioned that they were coming up with a new design for the Pace. Just waiting to see the details.

Yeah, I'd rather buy a set off Pace but I'm keeping my options open. I really love the traditional shape pipes so that's why I've been looking abroad.

Think I might end up going mild steel ceramic coated matt black??? Just can't make up my mind!

Yeah, got back to me pretty quickly. I've decided to go polished stainless so he can't help. Found another supplier that makes the exact pipes I like though. Quite expensive though!

Hmmm double bbq plates. Generally the HPC coated stuff tends to not make your skin stick to it as much but stainless is great to griddle you shins, legs, kids feet and your forehead. (Ask Paul G about stainless sidepipe forehead burn).

While the choice is yours and you do as you like be aware others may touch them and get badly burnt. Not raining on your parade but its a litigious world out there.

Just sayin.

(Yep Ive had them on a street car and have them on my track car but after seeing parents let their kids stand on side pipes at car shows (phuckers) to get a better view I'd not go down that path again.)

Gas-N sidepipes are made in the USA and a very highly regarded by the FFR folk. They make them to suit Superformance too.

There's no specs on the noise levels... they sound nice but maybe they still don't meet our low legal tolerances. I would really like to see how they are made.
