Default Recommendation for Engine Builder

The Windsor 302 is starting to making some tapping noises on acceleration. Only after having the inlet manifold gaskets replaced. Mechanic removed and refitted dizzy and I don't know if that is the problem... being a tooth off or so. Just working on worst outcome .......and needing new top end, bottom end etc. Mechanic off sick at moment so can't get in contact with him. Just thought I would ask as thinking of upgrading to 331 or 347 anyway. The engine in the cobra is a windsor 302 with alum heads, comp cam, msd ignition . Was built I was told by a well known Kiwi engine builder (mixed in with drag racing)in either Brissie or Gold coast around 2000. He seemed to paint his engines gold as his signature. Not sure of his name though. Is there any reputable engine builders in Brisbane area as up here in Cairns.....say no more!

Ian

Ian have you thought of contacting Tom (Tomcat racing)?
He lives a bit south of you but he'd probably have a name or two in the north Queensland area that might be worth a shot. You'd have to think that perhaps Townsville would have the odd handy chappie.

Whats ya budget ?
Pending your gearbox, diff, brakes and tyres -- stay with a good 302
Marty White of John White race engines --loves to build tough fords
