Recommendation of an VASS engineer in melbourne
Looking to start the build of a mk4 FFR roadster in Melbourne, after a recommendation of a VASS engineer who someone has used and had a good working relationship with for the build of my roadster...
Thanks
Ken

Hands down, Tom Bullock from Enkelmans engineering in Braeside. A true car enthusiast and a hell of a nice guy. Very reasonably priced and extremely responsive. He engineered my Pace 427SC for full street registration, and also engineered the Sidchrome Python Cobra that was completed recently.
Please tell him that Simon from Paintwerks referred you. And if you need a paintjob, feel free to come and see me!

Hi KJC
I only have conversational experience so far in my build with Enkleman's
http://www.enkelman.com.au/, in Braeside.
Its been very clear and professional so far so i can recommend up to this point.
regards
Dave

APS Engineering - formerly Roaring Forties are another one to add to your list. Speak to Paul Bottomley there at APS in Thomas town as they do full compliance work for all ICV's.
A friendly word of advice on the FFR Roadsters is that I would get your engineer of choice to do an initial check of the torsional and beaming test completed prior to making a start on building it, as there have been some concerns with them meeting the nominal 6000Nm/deg of deflection with some of the guys building them in SA.
Just FYI only.

I thought when Chris over in WA was the distributor he had FFR beef up the chassis so it passes the test. Might pay to ask FFR when ordering the question.

A guy in S.A. who purchased a FFR in the last 12 months contacted me for assistance with the chassis on the Roadster, as he was concerned about the torsional rigidity etc.. I put him on to the local engineers here in S.A.
Not sure when Chris stopped supplying them, just worth doing the exercise prior to getting into the build in my humble opinion..

My G-Force was engineer signed off at Enklemans all those years ago by Bernie at that time. They were very practical in their approach and did thorough work. They are located in SE burbs in Braeside. This might not be so convenient to where ever it is you want to build though. For me they are 5 minutes down the road.
Englemans chased Vicroads for me at the time too, in respect of my motor options and did a good job on this score.
Worth asking if they have already engineered any FFR chassis as they might have some exposure on the beam and torsion issue.
Regardless, I'd concur that if you are deadset on an FFR chassis, have it checked out first before doing any work. Rectification to achieve the Oz standards will be easiest on a bare chassis!
Have fun doing the research.
