Default SA Cobra, or Kit car clubs?

Hey all.
I am wondering if there is a Cobra club, or ICV/Kit car club in SA.
I am relocating to SA in the foreseeable future and with the new changes to conditional rego, there may be light at the end of the tunnel to have an ICV on club reg (currently a no no in SA).

I put the question to Glenn Stankevicius (the driving force within SMASA who made the changes happen) asking if there was provisions for ICV vehicles.
He advised at this point there is not, but it would require a group of like minded individuals or clubs to ask the SA Gov about being included under this banner.
It helps with the fact that most other states and territories do allow this if the car replicates something pre cutoff date (rolling 30 years)

So does anyone have any contacts?

Boxhead,

I am guessing that you mean South Africa and yes they have a large Cobra group and clubs there. We have a lot of members on our site from there and they have a large Cobra site there. They have some really great Cobras and do a lot of work and modifications on some of them.

Ron

Hey Ron

SA is the local abbreviation for South Australia (same hemisphere) - residents of SA are colloquially known as croweaters

My bad. Thanks for letting me know. I will try to avoid that mistake in the future.

Can't wait to see your smiling face down here in sunny SA. Let us know details of the move when you can and we will have a get together to celebrate. John.
