Default Photobucket alternative for you images

Anyone who uses photobucket may have noticed you can now no longer link to images without paying a $400/year subscription fee. The site has been running crap for years. Any old threads where you have linked images from photobucket will no longer show the images.

I used to host my images there but am moving them across to imgbox which seems to work pretty well.

Their servers had been running more and more slowly, to the point of being a nuisance. Now they want money?

I got the same message. Photobucket wants $400/year for third party photo hosting. Not going to happen! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the advice and heads up.

Is there a way of copying images out of PB into Imgbox?

Know some of my original pics had been lost in a previous USB crash.

Cheers

That's what we normally see of the Northern Hemisphere photos sent down under!

Go to photobucket and select "mybucket" - all your images should be under this one. There is a download link - it will zip all your files up and let you download them. Then unzip and upload to imgbox. I only had 50 Mb of pics, but it only took me about 10 minutes to do the lot.

I only keep a few photos and videos on Photobucket - typically those I want to share online rather than a storage facility. Checking some old posts reveal that the images still appear and here is a new one for a test.

Is the restriction only for users with bulk images or am I missing something?

I have started downloading and transferring my pictures from Photo Bucket to other sites. Two that I have had good luck with are Flickr and Imgur. I am using the free account on Flickr but they also have paid accounts that allow unlimited storage.
