Default Car trailer rent / hire / borrow

So I have committed to going to the Nationals having booked accommodation but I'd rather trailer up the cobra first time around.

A long shot but does anyone local have or know of a car trailer I might be able to access and use over the Nationals period?

I got a quote from the local servo U-Haul option and I'd need to harvest a kidney to pay for that hire option.

Any leads would be appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Do you want to buy one Slowy?
It’s a long drive away, but my old enclosed trailer is up for sale.
It’s ugly but tows well and is set up for a cobra.

from memory it was about $300 to hire a trailer for the nationals weekend. The weekend overall will cost you at least $2K. It's all part of the expense.

Thanks Gav

But another trailer on the property and the wife will strangle me and I really don't have the room.

Ben

Hmm best quote so far is $350 and I'd prefer to spend that on booze and / or racing.

If I have to drive up there in the cobra, I'll be a non-track starter then.

Slowly, drive it up and get it out on the track, just don't drive it at 10 tenths.

Odds are you won't damage it. Worst is you'll have to hire a trailer to take it home

Default Trailer

Flash,

$350 is really cheap for 4 days, take it.

Don S has a trailer but it has e brakes and he might charge you more than $350.

Do you have a tow car?

Stiffy

Thanks guys for the commentary.

Plenty of time to wonder this one out yet.

Gav I did end up biting and sent you a PM, how much?

Stiff,

The trusty Touareg is my workhorse and is rated at 3T towing and I've always had electric brakes for caravan towing so no dramas in that regard.

I'll have to touch base with Don then and see what he is up to and whether the trailer is still around and available.

Hey Slowy,
Sorry but it’s been bought by a mate of mine.

No worries Gav at least you have moved it on!

Stiff

Don is not lending anymore due to returned trailer damage.

I can understand that sentiment.

You know what to do Slowy. Harden up or hand in your bloke card. Simple.

Mate, I drive there, drive it recklessly and bring her home every year. Granted Im only a couple of hours away but I would find it hard to go just to watch.
