That's not a horse, it's a pony

A real horse would have been through that corner and well clear of that ill-handling, short-wheelbase thing.

Thats all a bit dopey. If the mustang hadnt of been clipped the cobra would have hit head on into the wall. No helmet no nothing. Maybe dead. I dont get the whole track cruise/roll racing thing. I believe the cobra guy has some previous track incident form. I mean accidents happen and he "may" have broken an axle or something causing the car to break right but even so, to be balls out side x side at LS at WOT is dumb. Hindsight 20/20 I guess. Lots of tears

After watching this incident, over and over. It seems some driver's were driving quite sedately, while other's (Black Mustang, silver Cobra) were hard on the gas. Driving on the track at "Speed" without a helmet, is not only Dumb, but very Dangerous. I'm sorry but the Cobra guy, should be "Slapped & Sterilized". We have a "Unwritten" rule in vintage racing, your fault, you pay to have the other gentleman car fixed too. My $.02 Cheers Tom.

Plenty of pics from the day of car speedos doin 100mph! (160k Doh)

Pony Car has set up a gofundme page (because we should all pay for risks other people take) but Ive a feeling it's a future war chest for the ensuing legal fight.

Exactly what I was thinking! Almost like NO rear suspension travel!

Terrible shame about the ball-up. Happily, it looks like no one was seriously hurt. Thought the Mustang driver was going to throw some punches!

sad to see something like that happen to two nice cars . the fear of something likes this is why i will never track my cobra just not worth the risk imo. i have a dedicated race car for racing .. i still cringe when i listen to the noise the stang makes when it hits the wall.
just glad everyone walked away from it . no helmets is a bit of a worry tho .

Has anyone ever sued another driver as a result of what happened on a racetrack (regardless of the nature of the event)? Other than deliberate malicious damage - which this wasn’t - I’d have thought there might be a moral aspect to helping out the bloke you side swiped, but not a legal one.

As far as driving goes I’d give him a 2/10, but for a PIT manoeuvre it was a solid 9/10.

No race gear .. No helmets .. passengers ... Boy is this a cowboy arrangement. I think we just all go home and count the pennies.

Old mate with the cobra drove home but end up on a tilt tray at Hendra after over heating. What I can’t believe is he ran around like a wanker to all the officials saying that the mustang hit him. After the way the cobra guy was driving and tailgating everyone I’m surprise someone else didn’t knock him out.
