Default Electrical questions

Starting to go through the electrical system. Which - to me - is always a bit of a nightmare. I have some preliminary questions that I can't find the answers to in the "assembly manual".

Where is the battery?

What is that black box at the bottom of the firewall, at the beginning of the trans tunnel? Looks like a junction box?

There is an electrical connection on the differential. What is that for?

On the right frame rail, underneath the passenger foot box, there is a connector marked "G/Box Speedo". Next to that there are two single connectors with white/red wires, that are not marked. What are they?

As I try and wire this birds nest together, I'm sure I'll have more questions. Wiring gives me night mares.

Bob, I think I can help with some of your questions.

In my BDR the battery is in the trunk.

I believe that black box contains the electrical shut off switch.

The switch on the diff is for a speedometer input to an electric speedo.

I don't know about the rest, mine doesn't have them.

Hope this helps

Electrical systems vary depending on build number of your Backdraft Cobra and who installed the engine/tranny. What is your build number and who installed the internals? I have owned two Backdraft Cobras--and early build and a more recent build. Electricals are different. Post some more info and perhaps we can help. Better yet, contact Cashburn at Vintage MotorSports and ask for help.

Car is brand new, #1642. Internals installed by BDR. I'll be installing the driveline.
