Default Header welds

Are all the side exhaust pipes held on to the headers with springs?

ERA is a slip fit with a bolt holding the two pieces from slipping apart. I think the originals are like this.

My BDR came with the slip fit headers but I converted them to flanged headers to cut down on the backfires.

Cheers

Many were, came with a sloppy fit. if they had a proper slip fit, it would never have been a problem. Many racing exhausts are slip fit pipes.

Many thanks for the info.. The left side is still attached with springs. The right is or was attached with springs, now has a bolt. Springs are going back for now. If I ever get this car on the road, I'll consider flanges. Still trying to disconnect all the wiring harness from the FAST Fuel Injection system without cutting any of the original harness that came with it.
