Vintage Motorsports Mayhem - testing in Mexico (60-??? mph)
Hi all - haven't posted in a while. Life, work, blah, blah. So here we have a video of me making sure Mayhem is race ready. I went up to Vintage Motorsports this past Friday to have Brian do a good look-over. Everything checked out and all fluids changed. All in, the drive to/from Connecticut was about 320 miles. Horrendous traffic on the way back, but Mayhem performed flawless and I got a good tan.
Although Brian gave the mechanical thumbs-up, I had to shake off my race rust. Here's a video of me doing a 60 to 140+ run (3rd through 5th - I think), easing into each gear, short shifting around 6Kish rpm (engine spins to 8K). This was on my pump gas tune. You can see the boost gauge and fuel pressure gauge move in tandem (as boost increases, fuel pressure increases). If you watch on YouTube, you get a much large and clearer image. And, yes, I have to work on the camera angle. All in all, I'd say Mayhem is ready for the upcoming rolling racing.
Happy Labor Day and I hope you all got to take your Cobras out for a spin.
