Default NEW BEST - 167 MPH - Vintage Motorsports Mayhem - Pocono Speedway Roll Racing

Attended another roll racing event at Pocono Speedway and got a new PB at 167 mph bouncing off the limiter in 4th. Below is a video (I'm the outside lane).

I cannot tell how much fun it is to run the VMS built Cobra couple with the pride inducing attention it gets from the full spectrum of racers/spectators. I have two more roll racing events in October - hoping to get 170 mph (limiter has been raised by 500 rpm). I'll also play with the gear I start in and possibly shifting into 5th.

Despite the dumpster fire 2020 has been generally, condensed racing events has been a silver lining. If anyone is interest in these types events in 2021 and/or have questions about attending, feel free to reach out.

Finally, at the risk of sounding like a paid parrot, Vintage Motorsport has built an absolutely incredible machine in both appearance and, more importantly, performance.

Default Gott in Himmel!

That is such a gorgeous sound! Well done!

Ive had mine to like 130 or so and it starts to feel really weird but then of course im on a back road (very empty no crossings) not design for that sort of speed...

It must be something else going 170 in an open cockpit...
I did the NASCAR experience a few years back at pocono. I think it was 6 or 8 laps, 3 cars in a row, building up speed every lap, no passing the instructor, so I think we went 165 last lap, the car felt solid, just when it started to get fun, it was over, ha

If you haven't yet done so, I would be installing a front spoiler.

I've done 135 indicated once in my FIA Cobra on a straight level bridge closeby. Never again.....

I’ve had my 1967 corvette convertible 427 with 3x2 carbs to 140 and lost nerve .... old car old reflexes.

Cobra is so much lighter it hits 150 fast .... but i usually shut her down at 155.
Just can’t wipe out at that speed..... I’m taller e roll bar for one!

If you flip her over at 155 a roll bar ain't gonna make a lick of difference.
