Default Waterproof Car Cover Suggestions

I know this question has been asked before but some of the threads are old and things may have changed since. I'm in the market for a waterproof car cover. I have a soft indoor cover already from California Car Cover. Hugs nicely. Like others I need something to carry in the trunk in case of a weather emergency. I'm not looking to use it for long term outdoor storage but it would be nice to have one that can handle a short period of time outside in case I need to do work in my garage and can't put the car back in. I need something durable, but soft, on the underside since my current indoor cover is starting to make little holes in it from rubbing across the fuel cap assembly which has some sharp edges at the hinge. I've priced these out and they seem to range from $300 to $400. That's a little steep for me. Any recommendations?

I use these or something like these. for short term outdoor (Overnight trips, etc) Your soft cover under these (Indoor cover) then these over that. I've seen them anywhere from $12-20 each. Cheap ins. Cheers TommyRot. https://www.miniinthebox.com/en/p/di...8e8ed4a8553e1b

Smart idea. Obviously there aren't any specifically for Cobra's. Anyone know how to size these for our cars? What make and model vehicle would come close?

Go to e-bay.

Type in "plastic car cover small".

Pick the one you want.

2 pacs run about $25.

Even a small is large.

Cheers

I just purchased a California car cover "superweave all weather cover". I chose it after a phone call with someone at Cal Covers, I wanted something that would be good at keeping dust off my car. I quite like the cover, light and easy to roll up, and has the added benefit that I can take it with me if I think weather might be a concern or for an overnight trip. It would fit into a backpack folded up.

Most of the outdoor covers are made with non-cotton materials (or blends that promote some softness but need the non-cotton content to repel moisture). Said differently, if you have to use it in a pinch after a drive you risk burning it on the sidepipes and leaving sticky glue-like messes that are not easily removed (if at all).

It can be removed but as you said not easy. I ran over the dreaded plastic bag that melted to my side pipe and the collector. Only took about three hours to get it off

I carry a California Car Covers "Plushweave" with
the cotton flannel lining. These are sewn as a perfect
fit to any Cobra after going through a guided menu.
Softest lining and does not scratch the paint but
intended for indoors.

If it rains I just throw a Cal Car Covers SMALL plastic
disposable cover over the top of the Plushweave.
Rain stops, throw the disposable away and the Plushweave
remains dry. Plastic cover never touches paint or pipes.
Also, rain usually brings wind so a couple of bungie cord
wraps can also be used over the top of the disposable
plastic cover to hold everything down. The Plushweave
underneath will protect against any potential rubbing.
The disposable comes in a very small pouch and can be
stored in the trunk. I like to have these available as
dust/debris covers if it goes to a service shop.
