Default New guy

Just stopping in to say hello. Recent owner of brand new 80 mi RT4B 427R build #2297. Loving the car, the interior is on point as is most everything except a few things mainly some paint imperfections. Thought it was from a previous gas overfill (gas staining) but looking like it is below the clearcoat so in talks with Earthmotorcars to see what is to be done. Temp reading incorrectly (even after removing teflon and testing sender/gauge), speedo not working till around two minutes after moving (sometimes). Anyways just some bugs that I am sure Radical Roadsters will take care of upon my 500 mile inspection. Anyways just stopping in, glad to be here.

@mavgarb302 - when did you get your car? Mine is within the next 10 and it is still in the crate at BDR awaiting parts with the biggest ones being the engine and transmission. I’m looking at months out still. Thanks

Try hand cleaner without the grit the slimy kind. I used to use this on my motorcycle tank to remove stains from gas spills and it worked great also gentle on the paint.

I bought it from Earthmotorcars as new, I assume bdr painted it in SA before shipping to Fl where engine was installed, then ship directly to dealer in Dallas. Yeah the imperfections are on the paint below the clearcoat. Still havent heard from them. The color is grigio, a ferrari grey color if I recall.

On your Speedo lag on startup. It sounds like it has a GPS input. The lag is normal if you're equipped with one.
On the Coolant temp reading "incorrectly". What are the readings? Is it a C or F gauge?

Yeah I was unaware but that is exactly what it is, GPS takes a second to start picking up sats.
As far as the temp it never gets over 155 (which I believe is wrong) but my handheld temp reader reads the same in F*. 155 is about where the auto fan cuts on aswell. Really hard to believe this thing is running that low. reading on the head idling is about the same few degrees higher, same w lower hose. I guess it is what it is but pretty sure my hand held is on point.

It may not have a thermostat installed, only a restrictor.

That said this time of year its not unusual especially if you have an aftermarket/optional radiator. (identifiable by silver VS black plastic oem side tanks)

Surely they put a thermostat in it, but I guess that is a possibility. And yeah soon as warranty period is over it gets a mishimoto.
