Default BDR front control arm bushing help

Removed a front lollypops to install a Turner monoball bushings. The front and back openings measure ~.075” too small for the bushing. Bolt holes are also not countersunk on back like standard e36 parts. Does anyone know if BDR lollypops are supposed to be the same as e36 lollypops? Lollypops with preinstalled bushings are available but have countersunk rear bolt holes. Not sure if these will bolt right up. Any thoughts appreciated...

Not sure if this helps but I talked with VMS about my RT3 2012 build and replacing the lollipops this morning... they told me I could just order them from BMW as they are the same.

The countersinks where the lollipops attach to the car are not necessary.

The countersink where you press the Monoball into the mount is.

See attached installation instructions.
http://bd8ba3c866c8cbc330ab-7b26c6f3...1TMS~A_INS.pdf

As it notes, the splines will shave off as you press the bushing in.

I can tell you heating a part up in an oven or using a heat gun helps tremendously as does freezing the part overnight that you are pressing in.

This is a Hydraulic press task and not a hammer / socket / block of wood operation to install these.

Last item. Before you install on the car use a good quality sealant or RTV the seal the edges front and rear. The Mono blocks are Aluminum and the mounts steel. Both are bare and will start corroding the aluminum in a few days thru galvanic action when moisture (electrolite) seeps in. Coating the mating surfaces of both parts with wet epoxy primer while you press them in is a standard practice in aviation.

Thanks guys. Have those instructions. The lollypop measurement appears too far off to press in. Will measure again tonight. Might just return loose bushings and purchase preinstalled ones.

Determined e36 bushings would not fit my BDR brackets without modifying the openings. Bought preinstalled bushings instead.

Drilled the bracket bolt holes to fit BDR M12 bolts. Stock e36 bolts are M10. Squirted moly grease into the bushings with a grease needle. Used dish soap and a rubber mallet to get bushings onto the a-arm stubs, then fitted and torqued the mounting bolts. The old brackets twisted off the stub; no puller needed.

Steering is noticeably more precise and predictable, especially as the suspension loads up on turn in. Haven't felt any additional harshness. Installed Monoball RTABs a few months back along with poly subframe, diff and rear wheel carrier bushings. All worthwhile upgrades from my perspective.
