Default Backdraft outer tie rod ends

Needed an outer tie rod end for a 2010 BDR. Contacted a few vendors and googled. Daniel Fischetti from Dessert Valley Motorsports came through with part ES3401RL.

Dimensions are very close… a little less dip and the post is ~.25” taller. Used safety wire on the castle nut as the cotter pin was tight. Aligned perfectly. Steering is tight.

Found Daniel on FB/Backdraft Owners Group. Very responsive. Shared his knowledge openly on this and other topics. Thanks Daniel.

I used BECK/ARNLEY 1013519 on my 2005 build, but looks like they are discontinuing them now. I also had to do the exact same thing with the safety wire.

What build number you have? I have #880 looking for tie rod ends. With the BECK/ARNLEY are they the same for both side?

Yeah, I posted a link to your FB post. Looks like the correct one. I can't believe they still have them (I ordered a couple myself). If you get in there and find that you need inner tie rods too, they are MOOG EV239, and the Tie Rod Boots are Moog K150272. IIRC, the inners are a little longer than stock, so you'll have to measure a bit. Oh, and you'll need the Maddox inner tie rod removal tool from Harbour Freight:

https://www.harborfreight.com/inner-...r+tie+rod+tool

Note: For the outer ones you won't be able to use the kottar pin; you'll have to use safety wire. I don't think the lock nuts will work, but this is all from my feeble memory. You'll figure it out once you are in there...

My 2010 build is BDR #870. Although ES3401RL work perfectly fine I'm going to order a set of BECK/ARNLEY 1013519 to have around. Thanks for that.

Tip... use a floor jack and raise the assembly (compressing the suspension). It will make tie rod removal and reassembly much easier.

Good luck.
