Question Rear license plate?

Any pictures or advice on how to get the rear plate and or a bracket to fit on a BDR.
I have OKLAHOMA plates and they don't fit. I am pretty sure they are the same size as other states.

Yeah,

Drill a couple of holes higher up on the horizontal bracket provided. Then write the factory and tell them for the 100th time the brackets are wrong.

But, I am assuming you have standard American size license plates. Where the heck is OKC/Playa del Carmen, etc?

I used Earls stainless steel hose clamps and clamped mine to the 1" tube of my S/C bumper. I couldn't bring myself to drill the boot. It's a very clean installation and complies with Californias requirement that rear plates be illuminated. The light is mounted to the boot but isn't 4" away.

I assume you have a similar bumper as there are tons of brackets made for quick jack / plate mounting. Pics in my gallery.

Same fix here. On my BDR the distance between the license plate light and trunk handle is not enough to clear the plate comfortably without notching the license plate as well as moving the holes higher on the license plate bracket. Notching the top of the plate about ½” allows it to snug up under the license plate light and clear the trunk handle. You also need to bend the ends of the bracket to get the plate to stand straight. I made a template of the plate so I could make the notch as clean as possible. The notch is so slight that you don’t notice the plate is cut. The only thing I forgot to do was to add my name to the long list of those who have already written the factory.

Lightbulb License Plate Modification

(Reprint of License Plate Modification From a Previous Topic & Thread.)

I removed the light and bracket from the trunk and elongated the 2 holes in the fiberglass, so the whole assembly mounts higher. I bent the bracket a little more and re-drilled the holes in the bracket for the plate, so it would make the plate set higher too. I also used a smaller license plate frame that hugs the bottom edge of the license plate itself. There is a larger plate frame that sets well below the lip of the plate, If you have one, you will know what I mean, it won't work. I then used a dremel tool to grind away some frame material to form an arch shape to rest on the trunk handle bezel. I didn't have to grind the license plate itself, just the frame. If you don't use a plate frame, the plate will fit as is. I used a stainless steel security license plate bolt kit from the autoparts store and mounted them from behind, cut them down a bit and put the nylock nuts on the outside. You will notice that there is very little clearance between the bolt heads and trunk surface, mount the plate before attaching the whole assembly to trunk. Very close clearance between handle and plate, so watch your fingers when opening and closing your trunk.

I notched the plate ever so slightly to fit around the light.

You can't tell unless your looking for it.
