Is classic roadsters II still in business?
Hi,
I ordered a kit in May and haven't been able to get ahold of Ryan Martens for the last 2 weeks to find out what is going on. It was supposed to be delivered in July but there have been delays. So now I am in limbo wondering if it is simple delay or a scam as I have put down a lot of money so far and under a deadline to get it by sept 12th.
Anybody know him please contact me.
thanks,
Perry

Perry,
The person that would most likely have the latest information is DoubleVenom who will most likely see this and answer you. I tried the sites that I used to go to and all they say is This Domain Is For Sale.

Myself and others dealing with one particular "fabricator" had to go on site and get their stuff. Depending on the $$ is it worth a trip out there to sort things out?

SB,
Wish I could answer your "point in question", but I can't. I do know it's a long way to "Tiperaree!"
I HATE to think this is happening again. . For years after Dons downfall, brought on by no means of his made faults. I thought forming a legal "Co-op, taking up collections, selling stock, find a legitamate Speculator, anything that would allow "Us" to take over, run the company with true morals and make it once more one of the top performers in this industry!
How many of you know that "Lone Star" is Gone? Filed bankruptcy and sold out?"
Somebody has to be able to take over a legitimate Cobra Company and run it right!

Apparently the product line has been "rescued" and Lone Star stuff should be available from a new company. You can read all about it at www.UltimateClassicCars.com/about-us/.
Cheers!

That's who were dealing now. Seems they are sure trying! At least new owner has one of the original LS Cobras.

Hi,
I got text explaining the delay, I guess I will have to wait some more and see if it is real.

Let's all hope it is real, and that Ryan is getting this sorted out. Delays and a lack of communication don't reflect well on either himself or the Cobra business.
Thanks for the update.

Tony, ( not from Maine are you?)
To answer your question--- THREE (3) times intentionally by the same owner. My half knowledge\business sense it was a ruse to "legally" embezzel money.
4th time, Don Scott through NO FAULT of his own was forced into Bankruptcy by a "New" unscrupulous dealer- Jay (Jerome) Kowalik.
Now Ryan, who I know has plowed through a mountain of manure to get this far. I know he has run into something unexpected ??? Wish him luck, I know his cars are way PAST the #10 standard! Hoping he shakes off what ever is holding him back soon!

Marketing 101 teaches you that when a business name has been tainted like this the best thing is to scrap it and start anew. I don't know if Ryan's business plan included "goodwill" but the total available market (TAM) for Cobra replicas is pretty limited and this probably isn't helping. Maybe being in Canada and with the limits Canada imposes on imports the location is a help. I wish both business owners and customers good luck.
PS A text message instead of a phone call doesn't speak very well for transparency.

Hello. Sorry I have not been online.
Lots of problems to work through and engineering challenges.
I've not got a computer at this moment. And yes I send texts and emails there fore for my records I know exactly what I've told my customers. I'm sorry for the delays to perrys kit.
It's a special 1 off kit that will be a purpose built drag car. I've had to redesign the entire rear half of my chassis as I couldn't get enuff suspension travel out of the current IRS chassis after converted to straight axle. There will only ever be 2 straight axle cars built.
This one and one for a USA customer.
I have also been dealing with a costly law suite. With the Canadian who I got the molds from in the first place. So a lot on my plate and as dv said I've plowed through a lot so far and have a ways to go. But in the end CRII under a new name will be supplying quality kits to the industry.
As for that pedal box Dv. It was sent as soon as you told me you needed it when I sent you that pedal at no charge. I'll try and track it down. If not I'll send you a new one. The new ones are updated slightly and a really nice piece.
If anyone has any questions
Feel free to get ahold of me

Buddy I appreciate the no charge, but I fully expect to pay my share.
PS, From what I've heard about the guy that was holding the old but original molds, I'm not surprised a court action has followed. I wish you well and absolutely the best to ya!
