Car cover

Looking for a fairly heavy duty car cover to open trailer haul with. Unfortunately i dont have a closed trailer. Any suggestions on a good car cover? Also mine has driver/pass roll bars. Thanks

Please, don't under any circumstance, put a car cover on a trailered car!!! Ask me about a friend's Ferrari, that thought he was saving his paint, when he removed it the 150 mile trip to a vintage race, every spot that it was not tied down, had rubbed on the paint, he wanted to cry. What I did before my enclosed trailer, was put a full width rock shield on the open trailer, up to at least to the windshield, on the towed car and just rinse the Cobra when you get to your destination.

I agree completely with Alfa02. I have seen three really nice paint jobs ruined by putting covers on cars that were on open trailers and no matter how tight you tie them down, the wind is going to cause the cover to move and that is just like using sand paper on the paint. A rock shield on the front of the trailer is about the best that you can do.

For a short trip, a cheap way to keep your car free of bugs and small impacts is to use painters tape to cover the front of the car. Once at your destination you can peel it off, just be aware if you encounter rain it will come loose. A more durable alternative is to use a product like Road Wrap, a temporary vinyl wrap that can be removed up to a week after application. There are even windshield wraps that go over the outside of the windshield to prevent breakage, these aren't cheap and last about one year under normal use.

I concur with the prior posts. When I am transporting the race car on an open trailer and it might rain, I cover the interior with road wrap. Never put a cover over the car, you will not like the results.
