Default Head lights, again?!?!, yes I know

I'm building a CRII, never assembled, missing a few parts, thank you to everyone who's ever posted on the forums here. Headlights are still an issue. Seems Classic Roadsters used some hard to find head system.

If you were building a CRII, what would you do today? Use a kit from Shell Valley? Would it fit/work, or is there something that would prevent you from doing so? Is there an upgrade you would consider?

Mack Truck Model R, DM and U.
Raneys Truck Parts 888-888-7990.
Part nmbr 2MO46P10 complete assy $151.95 ships in a week.
Made by PAI Ind and are the same assy Classic used.
Classics are 9” longer and 2” wider so these 8 5/8” OD headlights are bigger and to scale with the bigger body. Size is important to fit fender correctly.

Spot on Sunman, I was in the same spot 5+years ago, Was lucky enough a Club Member PM'ed me with a pair of NOS headlight trim rings. But yes, that's where I headed next, exc. job of finding them, and doing the homework for current & future CR owners. Cheers Tom.

Just order MGB units from Moss Motors. They are the same units Carroll used back in the day. And they are cheap!

To small.
Classic Roadsters used the PAI Industry’s 8 5/8” OD unit.
You can get any part of the headlight assy separately.
Made in USA and like everything CR it’s bigger.
200,000 of the 360,000 Mack R trucks made are still on the road.
This is the most ubiquitous headlight used in any of the Cobra cars.
Yes early AMF Harleys used it too.
You can get plastic Chinese units by the pallet load at $25 each. Single beam, used in light towers.
Bob Bennett (Arntz, Excalibur, Bennett Coachworks) used it, the Excalibur is a tweaked CR.
