Default need a fuel sender with pickup

We are working on a friend's Classic Roadster from around 2001 (not sure if it's a 2 or not...), and the fuel sender quit working.
So we dropped the tank and pulled the sender.
We would like to replace it with the same unit, to cut down on fabrication.

Does anyone know what the sender is, so we can order a replacement?

Trying to post pictures here:

It is 9" down to the 90 degree bend, and a black rheostat and black float.
Thanks!
Mike

figured out from my buddy Patrick that the name on the rheostat is "TankCraft", a company in Wisconsin. From the website, they made/make fuel tanks, so maybe they made the fuel tanks for the Classic Roadsters...

Other research revealed that the fuel sender seems to fail due to a bad ground (probably from corrosion).

I'll post back here once we get this issues sorted.

Mike,

If you need to replace your fuel sender, you might want to look into the Holley 19-250 optical fuel level sensor. It uses a LIDAR beam to measure fuel levels, eliminating floats or other mechanical paraphernalia. Here is a link to it on their site => Holley Easy Level Sender.

Check out their video on the same page to get a pretty good explanation of the gizmo, and then download their install instruction pdf.

I think you will like it.
