Default New to the Cobra Club

Hi Everyone,

Would like to introduce myself. My name is Mike and I too have been "snake bitten"! I purchased a Backdraft car, #408 (rosso red with white strips) and I am really enjoying the car along with my wife Kimberly. I have made a number of modifications to help move the car to another level and since those initial changes the car is totally dependable and runs perfectly. Not a real high end car, your basic "cruiser", with a 302 crate motor (425 hp), Ford Racing automatic transmission, Holley Street Avenger carb, new custom fabricated gas tank (with fuel cell) and solid CNC insert mounted BMW rear end.

Living in AZ I have broken a few windshields so had a custom made Lexan windshield installed and no more broken glass to replace (windshields from Backdraft out of S. Africa ran $900+)!

Thanks for reading my "new guy" post and enjoy those Cobra's!

Mike

You have a 4500 on a 302 crate? Even choked to 750 cfm that's doesn't seem to work.
Can you explain the setup?

Sorry about that, re: my carb, it is a Holley Street Avenger, not a Dominator. My mistake. Hope this will help with the setup explanation. You are correct, even set at 750 cfm on a Dominator (4500), that would not work well on a 302 crate engine. Changed my intro post to match reality.

Mike

Welcome! Have you been in touch with the AZ Cobra Club in PHX?
If you haven't, you're in for a treat!

Larry,

Thank you for the welcome to the Cobra Club website! I hope to meet you someday when I'm down in Tucson. Best to you and all the Cobra owners in the Tucson area.

Mike
