Cobra
howdy, New cobra owner here. I recently bought what I believe is an ERA. Jag rear brakes, Chevy 350 (not my first choice), 4 speed. Older replica, but I really like the patina.... Esp the wheels, tires, etc....
Need an exhaust because the pipes are starting to leak. Please help!
Also open to any pointers! Its been a fun couple months so far!
Thanks in advance!

Thx!
Thanks Guys!
Its a 20 footer. Any less and you can see the poor lacquer paint job flaws due to age. Not exactly my color preference either but it is fun... Just a little warm when it is 90 out.
No tags anywhere other than a vin...
Open to how to determine the maker. Chassis looks more like a ladder style opposed to the usual twin large diameter round tube style...

Post pictures of the engine comparment, front and rear suspensions. There are some folks here who really know their stuff when it comes to Cobra replicas.

Overrider mounts, wheel dish (12 inch wheels), rear body arch, stiching behind seat, hood scoop leading edge, rear body cowl and rollbar positioning (both uprights will be mounted in the boot due to the wheel arch boot seam).
Chassis rail are 6x4 for memory, the motor should look like it is set wayyyyyyyy back, and under your pulleys there should be a brace across the chassis rails that may be 2x6 mounted not vertical.
There are plenty more things, but this is what I quickly see in one pic.

Also, wheels may look like pin drive, but the centres are a halibrand look centre that fits over a bolt on wheel with a spinner that holds it on.
Please note that this is a guess as I can see the actuall wheel, however may give you some direction.
More pics will help.
Cheers.

Thanks!
Yes, the engine looks like it is set WAAAAAAY too far back.
Havent had time to take pics yet but they are coming. Its a rough car but was priced what I feel was appropriately. Wanted another color and a more main-stream replica, but its been fun so far.
Wheels are WIDE. I haven't removed them yet but they appear to be lug based not centerlock. Wheels are Halibrand (or really good fakes) - Says it on the wheel.
Where can I learn more about Arntz?
Thx

Have a look in the manufactures forum for Arntz / Butler. Make sure you set the Display option to 'beginning' , then you will have lots of reading I front of you.
Also, rough cars car be transformed with a little work. Paint correction and restoration will make an amazing difference. Meguires 101 website is a place to learn about products and techniques. The ultimate compound product can remove an increadable amount of flaws, just be prepared to add to your investment with so hard work.
Congrats on the purchase.... More pics.

No need to apologize for the car...looks like a fun driver...you can go out and enjoy it...to me, doesn't make a lot of sense to put a bunch of money into to change the paint, engine, etc. If you want to do that, go buy one already done the way you like...in the meantime, have fun with it.

Once you know the manufacturer, you can most likely buy new sidepipes and mufflers. The car looks pretty good from the one photo. Just clean it up, make sure it's safe and drive the spit out of it.

The manufacturer is Arntz, the sidepipes fitted are not the ones that generally came with an arntz. If they are a slip fit, then Lee from Haynes hot rods may have what you want, otherwise there are a number of options.
If the primaries are rusted through (or perhaps surface rust only) then the muffled can be cut out and a new one welded in.
Go nuts with pics, then we can see more and you will get plenty of suggestions.
Overall, looks like a clean car, enjoy and drive the snot out of it. Maybe drop some coin on tyres with some grip...... This is not a safety suggestion, but a safety direction.

Thanks again.
You nailed it. It is Arntz (confirmed in person by another guy).
Tires are old as dirt and rock solid. I can break them loose standing on it in 2nd.
I think the leaks are coming from the tubes pre-muffler. Car is a 20 footer once you get up close you can see it is an OLD build that sat most of its life. Only 9k on the car.
But... ran in anger about 2 hours on Thursday in 90 degree heat and stayed under 180 (temp).
Overall I am amazed of the build quality considering the age of the car and etc....
Right now drive it. Make the list for winter.
Thx again

If the radiator is like the one in my car, you barely need a fan. Mine is about 5" think.
