The Story

In the mid 60's, Ron Brooks was a member of Shelby's team building the famous CSX Series Shelby Cobras. Brooks and Shelby parted company in 1966 and Brooks opened up Brooks Racing across the street from Shelby's shop. Brooks began building Cobras and Racing them against Shelby's Cobras. One of the Ford engineers that was involved with both Shelby and the Brooks Racing Team bought this car after it was retired from the Brooks racing team. It was sold a few years later. Just a few years ago, the same Ford engineers found the car again, purchased it and restored it to it's original state including all the original race car markings and numbers. It is now for sale again, complete with it's Racing history directly from one of the eye witnesses! This car is in Super nice shape, detailed to show car quality. It's Fast and it is an authentic 1966 Cobra Race car.

THE "STATS"

"A" production - wide body mark 4 built in 1966 this car was raced from 1967 - 1971

It has a 351-M400 Ford that is race prepped. New engine in 1998, balanced all new parts - engine built by Mark Dembrowski - NASCAR engine builder.

Rear - triangulated 4 bars - coilovers and coils - front adjustable coilovers.

Radiator - 4-core front with 3400 CFM electric fan - rear under body radiator, front trans cooler with B&M filter also front oil cooler. Has 13” S/S flex engine fan. trans, is FMX ford automatic built by B&M.

Car has convertible top, T. cover and a roll bar. It has a clear Florida 66 Ford title. This is not a kit, 4 of these cars were produced and caused many problems with the Shelby Company. Since rebuilding this car it has just over 5 K miles it is very fast but street legal! It has won over 35 trophies and shows well.
