Default rear license plate bracket

Contemporary owners, what bracket or method did you use to mount your rear license plate?

On my contemporary the space is to small for a standard plate, I mounted it just under the trunk lip with a light

Trim a notch from plate to make it fit. Drill holes in boot lid and attach as originals.
Think in my old pics in gallery you can see the trim, its only a little.
Car, long gone.......

On my car, I made two vertical stainless plates 3/16" Thick x 3/4" wide to bolt to the bumper and tapped each one 4 places: two for #10-32 stainless oval head screws coming through the bumper tubes (from front to back) and two 1/4"-20 for license plate bolts.

On a friend's car we did the same but he didn't want to drill his bumper so we used rubber insulated Adel clips around the bumper

Default rear license plate bracket

I couldn't use the bracket I bought from Finish line due to the recess on the Contemporary deck lid so I made a bracket to mount the plate to the trunk handle and it clears the light and handle nicely without trimming the license plate.

Mine has two holes drilled under the trunk lip, so the plate hangs below the trunk. I placed grommets in the holes to clean up the look. Others have made an ally bracket that mounts behind the QJ and hangs under the taillight. Could it be mounted to the rollbar behind a headrest/harness setup?

Are there two forms of trunk lid? Euro / American?
