Default unbuilt Contemporary cobra

Hi All,

i am here looking for advice and support. is there any information anywhere on the few Contemporary 289 FIA cobra's as there is one here in the UK - an un-built body and chassis.

i am trying to help someone that has reached our for help in selling this kit as there dad did not start it due to his passing. it has been dried stored but i fear most parts have been lost - i am not sure what bracketry has been retained but the body, cut back doors, dimpled boot, small scoop bonnet are all there.

I know what most of the front axles and uprights are, and they have some small changes to the mounting bracketry - this i can source here in the UK.

It does have the 'Burtis Motorworks' Chassis plate which is CCX 22500 or 22506 - i am going from a picture which is not clear.

any thoughts if someone in the states is looking for one?
any thoughts of where i could get further info?
does anyone here have a 289 FIA with the range in chassis number close to this number to identify the year it was produced?

i know its a long shot but i have been lurking in and out of this site for around 10 years and the knowledge, experience and build advice for other builders has always impressed me.

thanks in advance - Lee

If you would like a copy of a manual shoot me an email at mvanhorn8893@gmail.com
I just finished building my contemporary but it is from 1996 CCX-3-3967 big block car. My car has the coil over front suspension but there is another member who just finished his contemporary with the Jag torsion bar front suspensioni that might be of help as well.

There were few FIA's made (<10 I am told) but dont get excited as it does not make this a big dollar car. If in the UK why would you try to export as that seems very costly and since its in UK already probably a better bang for the buck in the UK. The real needle in the haystack was the slabside CCX, only a couple I knew about.

There was a finished FIA in the midwest a few years back that sold running and in perfect health for around 50k if I remember right.

Together it would be a great car for the UK. From what I know continuation cars are strong over in UK and AC cars about the same value either side of the pond.

They are cool but the CCX FIA was not a real accurate representation of an FIA car and it did share the 427 CCX chassis. If its a Burtis car its probably from the first part of the 90's, (1991-1995) est of 30 years old now.

Very cool find!
