Weight on CCX
Does anyone have the front and rear weight of a CCX with 427SO, Toploader and IRS? Even a rough estimate would be good.
Thanks

And I bet whatever's not on the front is on the rear, and vice versa.

You've got to put your car on scales and check the corner weights. Here's a wonderful thread on it from a while back on that: Best way to adjust rear coil overs for proper height on my SPF
Now, you might want to just skip to the very last post in the thread by Silverback51.

Thanks. I was looking at corner scales but I can’t seem to find a reasonably priced one for the few times I’ll use them. Anyone know where to get a set?

I purchased a 600 pound scale from Amazon for under $100. My plan is to weigh each corner while using spacers to raise the other 4 corners to the same height as the scale.
It will take longer, but will work for the few times I do it.

Do you think a 600 lb capacity will be enough? I thought a BB ERA would weigh around 2600 - 2700 lbs. I figure mine is kind of porky due to steel heads and probably more than normal insulation. Patrick. - what did all your corner weights add up to?

Here are my weights with my iron block FE/aluminum head/intake/WP/flywheel, Tremec/ERA custom outboard braked rear car with half a tank of gas and a small bag of tools in the trunk. This is with me in the car, and I weigh 195lbs.

It looks like I might be a little low on the scale.

You could build a quick little cantilever bridge so that half the weight is on the scale and half the weight is evenly resting on the floor. Then just double the reading from the scale. That's not going to be perfect, but it will work.

Yeah, it's a little deceiving when you just look at the car, but when I sit behind the wheel of my Cobra, my weight is distributed as follows: 47% goes to the left rear wheel, 29% goes to the left front wheel, 24% goes to the right rear wheel, and less than 1% goes to the right front wheel. The difference in cross weight by adding me behind the wheel is less than ten pounds. It is that difference that affects the cross weight percentages.

Two scales with a 2x12 between should be pretty accurate.
Still a lot cheaper than specific automotive scales and I can't seem to find a local shop to corner weigh.

I filled my tires with helium instead of nitrogen and shaved 20 lbs. off the car's weight.

Simple to get weight, go to local transfer station and drive on their calibrated scales.
Get out and see the wt.
