When and where did you take it to 200 mph.

I think he is being theoretical based on gearing. That car doesn't have enough power to hit 200.

Daytona coupes did 190mph in the 60's with less HP than mine

Looks like a great car and you've had a lot of fun with it!

So you're saying you went 200? Short of drafting, downhill, or a 40 mph tailwind, the math doesn't compute to me. No offense meant, looks like a fun car, I seriously considered buying this car back when you snatched it up. Cheers.

Firstly, just to remain on topic- It's a great car, and a great price. I Hope it moves soon for ya....
Now, to pour more racing fuel onto the 200mph topic. Unless there is video, I'm going with Mr. TwinTurbo on this one.
In 2 cars with identical aerodynamics, and with identical gearing: if carA can reach 180 with 500hp, then carB needs 700hp to reach 200... Just to overcome the atmospheric drag.
Remember- drag coefficients are not linear- they are logarithmic (that's just fancy engineering talk for "The faster you go, the harder it is to go even faster" )
and personally, I think all the stories about the original Daytonas hitting 190 back in the 60's was a boast... 170? sure. 180? that's stretching it....
but 190? I'd have to see the radar readout, and the calibration report on the gun...
