Every time a car is not sold, I always wonder what the reserve was. Is it because somebody sabotaged the sale with bad info? The buying audience doesn't know the actual value or the seller has too much of an emotional tie? I suppose the buyers could have a preconceived value in their minds and that's also the top end of their budget.

Probably didn't fetch top dollar as people want a registered street car.
If this one was road registered with SB100, I suspect it would have met reserve.
I easily sold my old ZX10R track bike at a profit after paying the title back fees and getting it 'street legal'- despite it being a 100% track/race machine with no lights

Takes two to tango. One buyer might have been willing to meet the reserve but takes another to push it above that limit. BaT needs to make the auctions of longer duration. I have thought about using it for my JBL but don't think the 9 or 7 days is long enough. I'd prefer a month.

I've sold 4-5 cars on BaT, My cars by the end of 7-days all met reserves and sold (Lucky, or the right cars, right price?). BaT will not take just any car (it has to meet their standard's) , or if they think your reserve is more then the market will bear. Since this Daytona was not a road car (Street legal) is what (I believe) kept the price down. Small audience to play to. My $.02.

@ Vector1, the two biggest advantage to BaT, versus any other auction web site. 1-they have a 99% transaction success rate (A bid, is a REAL bid), what is E-bay 35-50%? 2-Very knowledgeable & helpful people on there (The comment section), help's both buyer & seller. I learned a couple interesting facts on my 75 280Z, and trust me I've owned quite few Z-cars though out the years and thought I knew it all . And last but not least, (a BIG plus), out of the cars sold 3-new owners of my cars, have become great new friends, doesn't get much better then that Cheers Tom.
