Current ERA rearend options
A friend of mine recently had some issues with his Jag rear with inboard brakes. In a call to ERA, he was told ERA no longer offers the Jag option because they simply can't get parts anymore. He was also told that the ERA custom rear with outboard brakes is no longer available either because the foundry burned down. Not sure if the latter is a temporary or permanent situation.
Anyway, can anyone confirm this (since I heard it third-hand) and does anyone know what rearend options are being offered currently? I always like to stay informed of the future developments regarding ERA cars. Love mine!
Kevin

The Jag based rear is the only option.
The ERA rear with outboard brakes is not available. Hub carrier castings are the issue.

I think I would suspicious of the reports they can’t get jag rear end parts anymore. They may be more difficult to get due to shortages but that’s SOP for most things these days.

Just a few days ago, my friend's mechanic told him he had called ERA and they said the Jag rear is not available due to lack of parts (maybe this is temporary?). When he followed up with ERA himself, they told him the same thing and added their custom rear with outboard brakes is no longer available either. Not sure why he didn't ask the obvious question, which, of course, is "Well then, what is available?"

...if true, it seems they have a bit of an issue!

Kevin,
The ERA designed, optional outboard brake rear is not available. Standard jag inboard brake rear ends are still readily available, and still be rebuilt, and/or installed. Uncertain what your friends mechanic discussed, or is telling your friend. Perhaps something is being lost in translation. As an example, perhaps the mechanic is looking to ERA to supply replacement jag parts, in which case he was then told they are not available from ERA.

It seems like the outboard braked upright problem has been around for a while now and is still unresolved. I don't know why those fancy advanced 3d cnc machines can't spit them out.
