It's a 7000 series CSX.

I thought that 7000 had already sold according to party listing it, but I see it's still up on eBay.

Well, if there was ever a question about who "makes" the nicest glass Cobra

Who did the body?

Not real sure about this one but Kirkham did a short tryout stint at making
fiberglass bodies a number of years ago but decided to stick to aluminum bodies.

Think this is a HT car, via SPF ?
Not 100% but this looks like a HT car as the earlier cars via SAI were wider hip cars.
Might be a question for Ross or Rick.

My monies on the seller is misinformed.... Guessing I lost! Lesson of the day!

Wow! I almost forgot about these cars. Long, long ago, in galaxy far, far away, we actually DID make 4 fiberglass cars. I'm not surprised everyone (almost including me) forgot about them. I sold all 4 of them to my friend/buddy/Shelby Dealer/All Around Cool Dude Bill DenBeste.

We made 2 of the 427 cars (I think), one 289 FIA, and one 289 Street. Bill bought all of them. He sent the 289 FIA to us a while ago for some updates (if I remember right) and it was really nice--like all the cars, or anything else, Bill does.

It's nice to see it for sale! Good luck to Bill and Stephen!!!

The Cobra in question is being advertised as a Shelby 50th Anniversary model, weren’t the glass bodied Kirkhams done long before the Anniversary FIA Cobras were made available?

If I remember correctly the glass Kirkhams were going to include aluminum, hood, doors and trunk lid.

Also interesting is if the car was sold directly from Kirkham to the Shelby dealer, did the car ever visit Shelby American to get the CSX number?

I would like to clarify my initial post of “one of none”, I was unaware that the “Kirkhams” had toyed with the idea of any other glass bodied version of the Cobra other than the 427 variant. I stand corrected, thank you David. I’ll have to look to see if CC has the original posting still available.

From within the original advertisement, CSX 7978. Evidently it received it's proper badging from Shelby American.

I remember if someone had a deposit on the new Kirkham fiberglass car and Kirkham shelved the idea, they got their refund back or applied to an alloy roller.
Killer deal
