Shattered fibreglass, so not a 'vintage sports car'.

Two men nearly loose their lives and the concern is about the Cobras originality?
How about we reflect on how fast these cars can get away from us and send a prayer to the families involved.
Rick is a great guy and a seasoned driver. This beautiful Era was his second Cobra. He also previously owned a Shelby American continuation Cobra.
His road to recovery is going to be tough and long. Personally I am going to do my best to minimize speculation and send prayers his way.

Yes, two men badly injured, and people complain about being stuck in a traffic jam.
Our thoughts are with all those concerned at this time of need.

After looking at the video, it looks like it was a rollover. The roll bar looks to have done it's job...Windshield not so, not that it should have.
Prayers for a fast recovery to both.
Mark.

Sound's like Rick was a veteran Cobra driver, owner, and since he received the worst of the injuries, could he have been the (No roll bar) passenger here? My thought's & prayer's go out to their families.

Hi Tom - in Cobra accidents on the street, the person with a roll bar behind them is often the one who suffers catastrophic head injuries. They're designed to to work in conjunction with crash helmets and racing harnesses. An unprotected head making hard contact with a roll bar is usually a recipe for tragedy.

I know you other guys might not want to hear this, but technically any vehicle with an unpadded roll bar is really a race car only.
Whether you hit your head on the bar after a frontal collision, or an innocent party in a rearender,
it would be similar to being struck with a piece of waterpipe in a fight.
Please, all remember that.
Have you ever struck your head on a concrete floor lying a car?

I hit the back of my head many years ago when skating on ice. That was plenty hard enough, and concrete and steel are both harder.
Thanks, but no thanks.
