Is there a way to edit the thread title after it is posted?
I want to update the title of a thread I started. Please educate me on how this is done.
While we are at it, is there a way to change my default font for responses?
Thanks much!

Interesting...
I posted the above and it never went into the list of new posts. Not sure why.
Here is another potential issue... I do not think the "number of reads" column on the list of new posts page is updating correctly. The "responses" number seems to be updating OK. Is anyone still monitoring this site?

Seems the lounge posts do not show up out front, so I am reaching out via reporting a thread... will report anything I hear back.

I can respond, but not as a moderator on this site:
1: No, you cannot edit your post title
2: This is a common issue, but not related to the forum, but your browser software. First make sure your software is up to date, then clean out your system and browser cache. Go to the page you are looking at and hit "reload" on your browser
3: Reporting this thread or any other thread to the moderator for a non emergency such as your post count numbers, or changing the thread title is not a good way to put yourself on his radar. Instead, perhaps you are better off starting a new thread titled the way you want it. If there is information in the original thread, you can always post a link to it as reference.
Hope you find this helpful.

That's because you posted it and you saw it... It'll show up in New Posts again when there's a post by someone else.
As far as the other stuff, the Vbulletin forum software used here is SO SO SO old. What you see is what you get. It works.

Yes, you can edit your thread title:
Go to your thread, click edit, click Go Advanced, then edit title.
Note I have done it here as an example, dates at the start of the thread, and the date added to the title:
IDA idle jet holder

...too late, Bill, but it did not help... not sure my request was fully understood. Based on your admonishment, I won't bug them again, though! I appreciate it!

I think this just changes the title of your post, Gary... not the thread title.

As the only global moderator on a sister site to this one, I understand the frustrations that Jamo has. This site being the higher maintenance of the others.

As I stated before, you cannot change the thread title, as a global moderator, it can be done, but it is a royal pain. What you consider a simple task, really is not, as it sets a dangerous precedence =, We do it once, we are then asked to modify others, those requests for this and that pile up, as do the reported posts to moderators, spammers, changing other item requests, etc and so forth. We as moderators are unpaid, and do this in our spare time in between family, business, travel, shaving, brushing our teeth in some cases.....I think you are getting the gist of things. So once again, if you feel the need or want to change a thread, start a new one, and port over what you want yourself.
Once again, hope you find this helpful.

I can't see what you mean Paul.
I wrote this thread in 2012, and I have since edited the title as Weber IDA idle jet holder 8th Dec 2021.
Note the date.
As example, since I wrote this thread, that is the thread title, isn't it?
Gary

Gary,
Only your first post shows the edit
Weber IDA idle jet holder 8th Dec 2021
Not the main thread title at the very top, or what shows in that subforum.if you scroll back up to the top, the original thread name is still there:
IDA idle jet holder

I haven't seen any sites that a regular member can change the Title of a thread on. I am Administrator on a much smaller site and it only takes a minute for me to change a thread title for someone.

I have sites where you can. One that no longer exists allowed it for a small time window after the post presumably to allow for typo corrections.

That was a good idea. Let the member correct his thread title for a short time and then have it stop. Our software is old also and it only allows an administrator to change a thread title or correct it which I have done several times for members.
