Well, I can think of a lot worse things to associate with getting old. Looks great - enjoy!

No one can deny that the Corvette is the best sports car value for the buck.
601HP and Bartruff1 like this.

Enjoy the better braking, better handling, better power, better fuel economy, better high speed, MUCH better creature comforts, etc etc. Now, just hope you can trade off the visceral thrill of driving a Cobra...

Corvettes are definitely civilized, as is the Ford GT, but nothing can ever substitute for the visceral thrill of driving a Cobra. I'm glad I got to experience it. Well, there might be something better, like a Mclaren P1 or a Ferrari F50. But it's still "modern". The Cobra is only a frame for moving an engine around the track. Better know what you're doing to get in the driver's seat.

Congrats on going from a real seat of the pants Hart thumping Thunder Pounding kick A$$ American dream machine! To a more refined modern American sports car. No doubt, one of the better commerical American rides out there; and the only GM product still mostly made in America. All the rest of GM's are 70%+ right out of China! Nice to know that $2 billion we gave GM to save there Butts went to China as well! Or that for the last 10 years @ least. GM has been building crap machines with defective parts/switches etc. that have killed more than a few good souls!! Enjoy your comfort & obscurity!

So is this the thread to get the discussion started on whether you should have a Chevy or Ford engine in your Corvette?

Just kidding Bob. After seeing all that stink on other threads, I don’t dare want to send this one in that direction. Great car. Don’t change a thing.
