Default Restoration & Performance Motorcars (RPM)

Restoration and Performance Motorcars

I have seen various posts inquiring about reputable shops in the northeast of the U.S. Particularly since the recent passing of Billy Andrews and subsequent closing of HRE.

RPM is located in Vermont of all places, which makes it rather convenient for me. And for those interested, RPM has an interesting history as it grew from a farmer’s tinkering with a neighbor’s Ferrari.

The shop has recently undergone a change of ownership of its own as the founder is opting for a phased retirement. The original owner remains engaged, but likely on a reduced schedule. I have known this shop for years, as I have been the caretaker of my father-in-law’s TR3B for a while. And RPM has been great. Knowledgeable and responsive, but not cheap.

And it was that not cheap part that led to my recent mistake. Instead of RPM for an issue with my carb, I took my Cobra to another local shop claiming an expertise in 60s muscle cars. I will not make that mistake again. RPM charged me slightly more than the muscle car shop.

Key difference: RPM fixed the issue I was having with the carb whereas the other shop did not.

Hopefully this info helps someone in a similar situation in the future.

But somewhat of a drive from Mississippi

And the local schools still take the kids to the park. Basically an annual ritual to mark the end of school year.

That whole area, to include Basin Harbor, serves as a time capsule of sorts.....

Paul - let me know if you make the trek next summer. I am not far from there, in Burlington, and I don't think we get too many forum members up this far. We can do our own Car & Coffees
