August 18 Lake Tahoe
Good Evening
I’m putting this out there in order to give anyone who's interested time to plan and attend. I'm suggesting a run to Lake Tahoe on Saturday, 8/18/18, which happens to be the 3rd Saturday of that month.
What I was thinking was that we could meet at C&C, and then leave Palladio at whatever time is convenient for everyone, perhaps between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Traffic up to the lake is usually not too bad at that time of day, and in order to keep the route simple and enjoy a beautiful drive, I would suggest we go up 50 and then along the lake to the Bear Beach Cafe at 3310 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150, where we could stop for breakfast - I understand they have good food and fresh baked goods, and a spectacular lake view.
From there it's anyone's call. Those who want to go back down the hill could do so, and if others wanted to join us for a cruise around Lake Tahoe going out 89 through Kings Beach and back around to Southshore, or some other activity, we're up for it. It's too bad that Pam and I can't organize this for 8/11/18, as they have the annual wooden boat show scheduled for that weekend, but when we did Snakes to the Lake last year they did a cruise half the way around the lake, and then stopped and played miniature golf, so any suggestions for activities like that would be welcomed.
I'm not trying to turn this into anything other than either a breakfast, or a half day trip depending on how much you want to drive, and it should be a beautiful time of year to make a run up there. I think it would be a nice drive without being too lengthy, and while we could obviously do it with one or two cars, it would be great if we could get between six and ten to participate.
Please consider and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks very much,
Bill Sardam

Any chance of stopping at Fresh Pond for fuel? Don't want to chance leaving Folsom to Tahoe with the fuel cell and mileage I get. Thanks

Good Evening All:
Looks like the Cobra gods are smiling on us. The sky is turning blue, air quality is pretty much back to normal, and it looks as if this Saturday will be a beautiful day for a drive to Lake Tahoe.
Pam and I are planning on getting to C&C in Folsom about 7:30 AM, and we’ll get a spot where we can all rendezvous. I would suggest that anyone going with us line up around 8:25 AM, and that we leave at 8:30 AM and head up 50. We could stop at the Chevron at Fresh Pond for those who need fuel, and then continue up 50 to the Bear Beach Cafe, which is located at 3310 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, SLT [(530) 541-2321].
Mapquest says it will take 1 hour 43 minutes, although I think it’ll be less, but we’ll call it two hours with the stop. We’ll follow 50 to the “Y”, and then turn right for about 3 miles until we reach the restaurant. They don’t take reservations, so we’ll have to wait our turn, but it should be a nice place to do so.
After breakfast we can decide whether anyone is up for a further drive around the lake, or somewhere else in the area, and those that are done with driving or have other commitments can obviously head back down the hill.
I also wanted to mention the upcoming Hangtown Evening Car Show on 8/30/18 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It’s sponsored by the Placerville Lions Club, and only costs $15.00 per car if you register before 8/20/18. Anyone interested can contact me and I’ll pass along the registration information.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, and to a great drive through the mountains!

Thanks again to Bill and Pam for putting todays run together. For those of you who couldn't make it we had 8 cars on the run to Tahoe, up hwy 50, followed by a nice brunch at Bear Beach Cafe. Tina and I had a great time with a great group of people!

We would also like to thank Bill and Pam for putting together the run today. We met a lot of new people that we hope to see more of. We did sign up for the run, and the unveiling of the Cobra wine at Perry Creek Winery in September

Phx Mike,
It’s been hot here too, but Tahoe was nice in the 80’s. Sorry no pictures. Wanted to use the gopro but my husband didn’t want it attached to his new windshield. Maybe someone else took pictures.
