Original 289 drop dash layout?
What was the correct dash layout for 289 drop dash?
This?
Top left to right:
.................. WATER TEMP.......... AMPS........... OIL TEMP..............
............................... OIL PSI.................. FUEL..........................
........*Lights & PANEL DIMMER............................................ .*HEATER..........
.............................................. CLOCK.....................................
........*IGNITION................................. ...............................*WIPERS........
These 4 switch's all *Ford Galaxie?
Horn lower left of steering wheel = button style Lucas?

On right hand drive cars, from left to right and top to bottom, the center gauge layout is
ampmeter, oil temp, water temp,
fuel gauge, oil pressure
clock
That's from the chassis manual. Not sure exactly how that translated to left hand drive though.
Dan... ?

Based on your reference to Galaxie, I am assuming you are doing a ford wiring harness in your car vs. earlier lucas.
Here is a picture

Mike
I am using a CSX4000 harness with S&W gauges. I have not started on switch's yet. Have some old Lucas stuff from last car but was looking to go Ford direction on this one.
I have tons of pics of gauges, its the switch's that I can't identify with pics. Thee is a 289 near me however the owner does not like to show the car.

Jeff
Are you doing a standard street dash or the early street / comp dash with the row of switches at the bottom?

Now why didn't I post that link! I've had that site bookmarked for a couple years.

Ignition switch is early Mustang, heater switch and cable is Falcon (Shelby cut off cable but I kept it to turn off heater water-exactly right length)-this is reproduced. Knobs are not Galaxie as they had the chrome center. They are Fairlane. The Galaxie knobs are reproduced and you can paint out the chrome if you are not picky. Of course the clock is 62 Galaxie. I have an NOS one on hand. I bought a 2 speed wiper switch at Napa, added a Falcon bezel and a Fairlane knob. The hardest part to find was the ammeter charge light. It is a Ford truck part and I found some NOS.
