Default New street 289 filler caps

Just to let you guys know, original street-289 filler caps are currently available again, made by the original manufacturer (Ceandess) in Wolverhampton, England. These can be had with tube fitting for simplicity or with the original threaded fitting for originality. Contact Gerry at Hawk Cars in the UK.
(sorry about the fingers in the photo!)

Anyone know of a source for the 427 Street Candess gas caps. Mine, from a Norton motorcycle I think, has the ribbed thumb release instead of the smooth thumb release.

Cheers
Greg

Do you mean this style?

Ceandess Fuel Petrol Filler Flip Cap.Norton BSA Triumph Jenson Kit Car Morgan | eBay

Still come up quite often. I think you could order this new from Ceandess (Presto 75 model) and ask for non-locking.

I got in on the group buy two years ago, and it's finally come to fruition. Anxiously waiting for mine to arrive

Mine arrived today, and they are things of great beauty!
I had a long chat with the guys at Ceandess and am really impressed by the trouble they have gone to to get these right. A genuine old-fashioned British engineering company of the type we all thought had disappeared 20 years ago.

It's my impression that the ribbed release button is not correct - but the example posted by Mickmate is. I have one with the ribbed button that I bought out of England.

Hi mickmate. Your part sources never cease to amaze me. As rsk289 and DanEC have pointed out, the ribbed release button is not correct for the 427 Street Roadster.

But I like the key locking feature of the cap I've got. I may have to buy one of mickmate's caps just to get the release button.

Just had a recollection of a past thread where someone ground off the ribs on the release button and had it rechromed.

Or maybe mickmate can source just the release button for us?

Cheers
Greg
