Not another Viking Blue thread....?
Yes, OK, it's another Viking Blue thread.....sort of...
Question....were Ford the first to use that great light blue colour on their cars?
No, seems not.
On holiday several years ago, I saw this ol' girl parked outside my hotel room. Ran down with the camera to check out what it was....and the owner just happened to be there and told me a bit of its story. It's the James Radley Rolls Silver Ghost, vintage 1913, and it was in the area to celebrate its 100th birthday. It's painted in something quite close to a 289FIA Cobra's Viking Blue.
So, back when Henry was painting his Model T's in any colour you wanted providing it was black, this one came out of the Roller factory in England in a colour close to the now famous Viking Blue....
Cheers,
Glen
I'm behind the camera, by the way. John Kennedy is the owner; he's the guy with the grey beard.
