Stripes on Comp 289
As I’m looking on the placement of the washer jets on my 289 Comp Cobra version. I did some comparisons on different pictures.
On all of them it seems to me that the stripes are ending (+/-) on the washer jets and not the wiper mounting, which did now end in a question to you all.
Are the stripes on the comp Cobras (CSX2385; CSX2431; CSX2345) 6” wide and tapered, or do they’ve other specs?
Do you’ve some stripe specs of the mentioned cars (knowing that each car was painted different by the assigned painter)?
It would help to decide on the beast approach I should take.

on my pictures the stripes on 2345 in '65 livery are ending about 1 cm in front of the windshield and the stripes on 2385 are ending at the dashboard, no idea of the width,
keep in mind that the 2345 raced in '64 as well without any stripes and with a white horizontal stripe

Danke Peter
Yes, this car's changed painting very often. But it seems to me the stripes on the comp cars did follow all the same specs +/-.
I'm looking forward to paint again some stripes on my car and did check the information I found from Era.
But they seem to large to me for a 289 especially they would not match with the washer jet position.
I assume the should be 6-7" with a space of 1". But I would like to get it confirmed.

seems all the stripes were painted blindfolded with a brush back in the days, the stripes haven't the same width and aren't even straight, also to be seen on the Simeone Daytona CSX 2287 (even worse than 2345) so I would assume it doesn't matter how the stripes are painted, they will be different from the original in every case

I know they got all «hand painted» and it will be difficult to me to convince my painter to do a crappy job.
I found the following specs, but 7 ½” on the washer jet level seems to me to large for a 289 as it would be close to the wiper’s and not the jets as on the picture of 2345…..

Hi Peter
As I don’t have CSX2345 in my Garage
I can only compare it based on pictures.
I would say +/- yes, they are on the same position.
But at the end +/- some parts of an inch is not an issue as you need to do it anyway by eye when you’re taping the car.
I would like to know the values to better understand the way the stripes are changing the dimension based on the position on the car.
