Default 427 Aluminum Intake

Not sure if I’m in the right section to post this question but I was looking for some help identifying an aluminum medium riser intake. It has a FOMOCO stamp, a part number of CFMD 9425A and the word COBRA on the intake. There is the firing order but no other date stamping tags or any other markings. In searching I’ve not been able to find this part number anywhere describing what it may have been used on or when it might have been produced. Wondering if this would’ve been offered by Shelby in their aftermarket catalog or offered by Ford after they ended up with the cobra name….
Thank you
Cory

https://www.mustangtek.com/Intake/CSMD-9425-A.html

Pictures of the whole intake would greatly help ID.

Will this manifold work on the C4AE-6090-C heads?
The ports are 1 1/4” x 1 3/4”.

Are you sure it’s aluminum and not magnesium?

For whatever its worth I did get some responses indicating it was an "Autosport" offered aftermarket intake predating 1968 when these intakes begun to be seen with the Shelby name on them. Guesses have been made that it was probably offered in 1967.

Cory, your right sorry about that! I missed that. I also read your post on the SAAC forum. Interesting intake. Royce and the Gents there are pretty sharp. Seems they nailed it. No doubt a very cool intake to have. I do not see many of those and rarely for sale. A keeper.

Search “Sidewinder” on this forum.
There’s a pix on the GT40 forum of one just like it that says Shelby with a SFMD prefix.
They do work on the C4AE heads.
Legend has it the carb is offset 1” for scoop centering in the left turn NASCAR Cobras.
Really, look it up…
