Default Denso Tape

while working on my Cobra I thought it would be a nice issue of originality to protect my leaf springs with the original used Denso tape.

Unfortunately there are a lot of different tapes, so I ordered Denso Tec, which appeared to be the tape original used.
I wrapped the front leaf spring with it and it appears to look perfect original,

but:
the surface was still extremely sticky after some hours of drying, so I did a little further research about that tape and found out that the operating temperature is +35°C (+95°F). Not what should be the operating temperature in the engine compartment

So I think the required product is Denso Feu with operating temperatures of +70°C (+158°F).

Does anyone has experience with that product and with the handling of that product?

In the 80's I got what were supposed to be the last two N.O.S. 289 leafs from Autokraft. They shipped inside the cockpit of a MK IV wrapped in plastic. I understand why they wrapped them when I removed the plastic; that tape is the nastiest, stickiest, get-it-all-over stuff I have ever seen. When we worked on an original 289 in 1986 the tape impregnated stuff STILL got all over!
ALF, peterpjb and Harpoon PV2 like this.
