CSX Navy Blue - guess what make it's from?
So here's a little irony. I called an auto touch up paint company today to see if i could track down some touch up paint for PPG 5387, the color code for Navy Blue on CSX6022.
They looked it up and guess what they found?
PPG 5387 was the standard Navy Blue Metallic used on a bunch of 2000 Chevy models!
But at least I know where to get it. I'll report back if it's a good match.

You think you would get a special color for the CSX premium?
And who paints beige/gold on an ERA replica?

Yep, looked mine up and found that it is a PPG for a 1997 Ford Taurus. At least still a Ford!

Hey Doug, do you know if PPG made the color for GM, or did GM go to a PPG color? I might make a difference on your mood...
i stop caring for Cobra originality a long time ago... even the original were not!(all due respect to those owners of original cars)

Doug,
A GM color on a Cobra … well it's been done before. Shelby selected a GM color for his personal car. The last 289 (CSX2589) was repainted in the early 70's Corvette "Targa Blue" Metallic, with gold stripes. So looks like you are in good company
The PPG 5387 Navy blue is a great color. For my ERA, I went with PPG 4717 Indigo blue which is very similar shade of dark blue.

What people don't think about is there are only so many colors and most new colors have been done already. How many silver's does there really have to be? Coarse medium and fine could replace thousands of oem paint formulas for silver.
When you use the color eyes available from the paint companys to give you a color it doesn't make a formula it matches to existing formulas I'm its color library. So a medium blue could come up as a gm/ porsche and ford color in order of most likely match. If the car was spreyed byanother painter whe uses more air pressure or lighter coats it could come up Toyota first instead. How many shades of blue metallic are there really? A few hundred done and redone a few thousand times imo.
