The implication of this statement is that the "real" bidding stopped at something less than $148,100.
I didn't even bother looking at the bids, but someone with a (1) rating and 0% positive feedback did make a few bids to keep "salting the board."
But the reality is that the car's value is more than $148,100. Someone paid $126,000 for a fiberglass CSX replica on BaT not too long ago.

Which kind of brings me to my conclusion that the saying "It's only worth what someone will pay!" is a bit of a fallacy.
NO, "it's NOT worth what some will pay", but rather: it IS worth what someone will accept.
