Default Battery charger recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a battery charger/tender that has automatic features to charge then maintain safely. There are lots of choices on the internet, and many reviews from great to bad. I'm settling on the Schumacher SC-10030A or XC103, unless you guys have some better advice. I have a traditional wet cell Interstate battery now, but may go to an AGM at some future date. My battery is also hidden in the rear wheel well, so I believe I can charge by connecting to the starter solenoid battery terminal without hurting anything, correct ? Thanks for any input.

I have a couple of these (http://batterytender.com/battery-ten...-at-1-25a.html), and they seem to work fine. I bot some from Summit and the other from a local O'Reilly's...

I enlarged the hole where the negative cable exits from the battery box (located in the trunk of my SPF), and pushed the cable thru. It tucks up nicely when not in use, and I don't have to open the trunk and/or battery box to access it regularly.

My ERA has had the same Optima in it since 05. I had been using an AutoMeter Maintainer. These were great since they had a short lead that could be permanently connectted to the battery. It was just long enough to hang down and be tucked up when not in use. Just this past weekend I switched to a new Optima (no good reason) and now have a similar setup for use with my Grannite Unit. These are quite good and do a number of functions including cycling your lead acid batteries. Their website is All-In-One "Deep Cycle"

I ordered the Battery Tender with optional cigarette lighter plug in feature. About $50.00 at Amazon. The All-In-One looks great, but more than I need right now. Thanks to you both for the input.
