Default Radiator and oil cooler recommendation?

We need to replace the radiator in our '95 mustang track car (SBF 347). The current radiator is a Griffin with an integrated oil cooler, but had a pinhole leak that we had temporarily fixed with stop leak. I think we'd like to move to a separate oil cooler at the same time.

Opinions on which radiators and oil coolers are best for a dedicated track car?

I've used both Griffin and Ron Davis aluminum radiators with equal success, they are all 19 inches tall, get the widest you can fit in your car....

I think mine are 19x32 or 19x34.......my track car is a 65 Mustang,331 stroker,I use a 180 degree thermostat with 6 small holes drilled in it and my water temp never goes over 185 and that is with the fan OFF....My engine runs from 2500 rpms to 7000 rpms while on track........

"I use a 180 degree thermostat with 6 small holes drilled"

David, why the 6 small holes in the thermostat?

Ron
3: reasons,

#1 on my race car, I DO NOT run the bypass hose at the water pump, so this allows for some bypass until the thermostat opens

#2 it also allows for a little extra water flow

#3 it allows for the air to escape when filling/refilling the radiator helping to eliminate air pockets.....
